As Halloween creeps closer, it's time to concoct a cocktail that captures the eerie essence of the season. Introducing "Jason's Death in the After," a spine-chilling twist on the classic "Death in the Afternoon." This cocktail is perfect for a night of frightful festivities, offering a nod to the iconic slasher, Jason Voorhees.

Jason's Death in the Afternoon

Ingredients:

  • Champagne or Prosecco

  • Spritz of Absinthe

  • 1/2 oz Pomegranate syrup

  • Spoonful of pomegranate seeds

  • Honey and red food coloring for a bloody rim

Instructions:

  1. Begin by mixing a few drops of red food coloring with honey to create a gory-glamorous rim. Dip the rim of your chosen glass—be it a coupe, flute, or stemless martini—into the mixture.

  2. Using a spray bottle, give the interior of the glass a light spritz of Absinthe, setting the stage for a bewitching brew.

  3. Pour in your champagne or prosecco, letting the bubbles rise like ghosts from the grave.

  4. Add the pomegranate syrup for a splash of color and a burst of flavor.

  5. Finish with a spoonful of pomegranate seeds, reminiscent of blood-red rubies, for a final macabre touch.

This cocktail is best enjoyed while watching your favorite slasher movie, with its unsettling undertones perfectly complementing the suspenseful scenes on screen. With just one more day until Halloween, make sure you have your spooky cocktail ready to toast to the chilling night ahead!

Cheers to a hauntingly delightful Halloween!
