St. Paddy's Match Gin Fizz
Ingredients:
2 oz Irish Gin
1/2 oz Lemon Juice
1/2 oz Lime Juice
2 1/2 oz Matcha (1 tablespoon matcha powder mixed with 8 oz water)
3/4 oz Vanilla Simple Syrup
1 oz Liquid Egg Whites
1 oz Heavy Whipping Cream
2 Dashes of Orange Blossom Water
1 Can or Bottle of Seltzer Water (lemon-lime flavor recommended)
Dusting of Matcha Powder for garnish
Chilled Collins Glass
Directions:
Prepare the Glass: Start by chilling your Collins glass in the freezer. This ensures your drink stays refreshing longer.
Mix the Ingredients: In a cocktail shaker, add the ingredients in this specific order: gin, lemon juice, lime juice, matcha, simple syrup, orange blossom water, egg whites, and lastly, the heavy whipping cream. Adding the milk product last helps prevent curdling due to the acidic ingredients.
Dry Shake: Seal the shaker and shake vigorously for 25-30 seconds. This is your dry shake and gives the drink its frothy texture. If you prefer, use a hand frother for this step.
Wet Shake: Add ice to the shaker and shake again to chill the mixture.
Pour and Finish: Pour about 1 oz of soda water into your chilled Collins glass to create the fizz base. Strain your gin mixture over the soda water, allowing it to settle and foam. Top with additional soda water until the foam slightly overflows.
Garnish: Dust the top with matcha powder and add a festive straw for a touch of fun.
