Welcome to another delightful recipe by @garnishyourglam. Today we're going to be diving into the wonderful world of mulled wine. This is one of my husband's favorites and it's perfect for those cold autumn nights. It's also a fantastic choice for Thanksgiving cocktails. And the best part? It's super easy to make!
After my Sangria recipe, which was on the sweeter side and used a handful of ingredients, I wanted to share something a bit different. This mulled wine recipe is stronger, spiced, and incredibly warming. It's also very simple – while you're busy cooking other things, you can just throw all these ingredients into a pot! And there you have it - a mulled wine recipe that your guests will love. You might even need to double this recipe if you're having company because it's sure to be a hit!
Super Easy Mulled Wine Recipe This recipe serves 5-6, but as I mentioned, you might want to double it. Here's what you'll need:
1 Bottle of Red Wine (I used Pinot Noir)
1/2 cup of bourbon (use a liquid measuring cup)
1/4 cup maple syrup
Orange slices from 2 oranges (keep some extra for garnish)
4-5 Cinnamon Sticks (again, keep some extra for garnish)
2-4 Star Anise
4-5 Cloves
1/2 cup apple cider (this is optional! I didn't use it in this recipe, but if you want to stretch the recipe a bit, it adds a nice flavor)
Cranberries for garnish
The Method: Once you have all your ingredients ready, it's time to get cooking. First, add all your ingredients into a large pot and stir well. Then, transfer your pot to the stove and let it sit for 20 minutes over low heat. Make sure it doesn't simmer or boil. You'll know it's ready once there's steam coming off the liquid. Now you're ready to serve! Using a strainer, strain the liquid into a hot glass or mug. Garnish with an orange slice, a cinnamon stick, and some cranberries. And there you have it - your Super Easy Mulled Wine is ready to be enjoyed on a cold autumn night! So, this Thanksgiving, why not give this recipe a try and impress your guests with your cocktail making skills.
