Happy Monday! With the chill of winter outside, what could be better than bringing a touch of summer warmth into our homes? Today, we're going to revisit a classic summer delight and give it a holiday twist. Have you ever wondered how it feels to sip a frozen drink on a beach, with the sun shining brightly overhead, even when the world outside is blanketed in snow? Well, it's time to find out!
We're going to take the classic cocktail, The Blue Hawaiian, and add a holiday flair to it. The Blue Hawaiian, with its refreshing taste and eye-catching color, is a favorite among cocktail enthusiasts. But there's something else about it that catches my eye - its beautiful Tiffany blue color. Every time I see a Blue Hawaiian, I can't help but think of the iconic Tiffany blue (I'm sure you know what I mean!).
So, in honor of the holiday season, and for all those hoping to find a Tiffany blue box under their tree, we're going to create a cocktail inspired by Tiffany's – a gift that you can enjoy yourself or share with others. This cocktail also pays homage to one of my favorite holiday songs - Eartha Kitt's version of Santa Baby. So, without further ado, let's dive right in and make our very own...
Tiffany Blue Cocktail
Here's what you'll need:
2 oz light Rum
1 oz Blue Curacao
1/2 oz lime juice (freshly squeezed)
1/2 oz lemon juice (freshly squeezed)
1/2 oz simple syrup
3 oz Pineapple Juice
1/4 teaspoon xanthan gum (optional, but it helps create the perfect frozen texture)
1 cup crushed ice
1 oz coconut milk
Agave and white sprinkles for the rim
A white bow to tie around the glass
And here's how you make it:
In a cocktail mixing glass, add your rum, lime juice, lemon juice, simple syrup, pineapple juice, xanthan gum, coconut milk, and crushed ice. Transfer this mixture to a blender and blend until you achieve the desired texture. Next, grab an elegant glass of your choice. Dip the rim into agave or honey and then dip it into your white sprinkles. Remember, moderation is key - you don't want the agave or honey dripping down the sides of your glass. Alternatively, you could use lime or lemon juice instead. Now, pour your blended mixture into your rimmed glass. The result should be a perfect Tiffany blue color. To finish it off, garnish your creation with a white ribbon around the base of your glass. And voila! You've just made The Blue Hawaiian, also known as A Gift from Tiffany's!
Enjoy this refreshing cocktail, and let it transport you to a tropical beach, even in the heart of winter. Here's to a warm and joyous holiday season, and may all your wishes come true - especially the one about that Tiffany blue box!
