Beach Day and Night Approved Skincare Routine!

With the upcoming Labor Day Weekend, there will likely be lots of fun in the sun. The best thing we can do to create the perfect makeup look is keep our skin looking flawless and that means protecting our skin from the sun! The first step to any makeup look is a perfect canvas. Here is the skincare routine that I used all summer long (and the order that I apply it) to protect my skin from the sun!

Skincare for the day (before you're in the sun):

After you do your morning face wash routine (be sure to not use a retinol the night before you know you'll be in sun as it can make your skin extra sensitive to the sun)- start applying your skin care (don't forget your neck and décolleté)!

Step 1: Glossier Super Pure Clarifying Face Serum with Niacinamide + Zinc

Step 2: Sun Bum - Hydrating Serum

Step 3: Sun Bum - Hydrating Eye Cream

Step 4: La Roche Posay - Anthelios AOX Daily Antioxidant Face Serum SPF 50

Step 5: Supergoop! Glowscreen (SPF 40) - color Champagne Glow

Once applied and dried, you are good to go! I always apply light makeup over step 5 (a little bronzer, mascara and eyebrow gel in clear) Sunglasses and a hat are the final step in protecting our face!

Also! Protect your hair and sculpt! I love SunBum's 3 In 1 Leave In for hair protection. I use it for conditioning and protection from the UV rays. I spray it in my hair after a wash and while my hair is still damp. Throw this in your beach bag too!

In addition to the skincare during the day, here is what I would use at night.

Skincare for the night (after the sun):

You will wakeup with refreshed and hydrated skin!

Hot tip! Careful with pillowcases, some of this skincare is oil based and can stain. I usually travel with my own silk pillowcase that I can wash and treat if necessary. Taking oil out of fabric is easy!You just need baking soda and water, make a paste and let it sit on the stain for a day. Wash the fabric normally afterwards and you're good to go!
