Do you ever feel like your blue cheese olive martinis aren't blue cheesy enough? If so, you may want to try infusing your vodka with blue cheese! This might be a controversial cocktail, as not everyone is a fan of blue cheese, but for those who are, this could be a game-changer. With the additional twist of sage, this recipe brings a unique Thanksgiving flavor to your holiday drink menu.
Blue Cheese and Sage Infused Vodka 🧀🌿

- 1 oz of Blue Cheese (from a 6oz wedge of Blue Cheese) - a little goes a LONG way
- Handful of Sage (the blue cheese will be overpowering so feel free to add more sage than you think you need)
- 16 oz Mason jar
- 12 oz Vodka (I used Titos)
- Strainer
- Cheesecloth (I will link them on my website)
Method:
In a mason jar, add your blue cheese (I sliced it into small pieces), sage and Vodka. Seal up the mason jar very well and let it sit in the fridge for 5-7 days. When you're ready to use the Vodka, take it out of the fridge and strain. Using a metal strainer, strain the liquid from the cheese and sage. Then using a metal strainer and a cheese cloth, strain the liquid again. Repeat this until the infused vodka is free of sediment. It took me 3 times with the cheesecloth and I folded the cheesecloth into 4 layers. The blue cheese is really fine, so don't worry if you have to strain it a few times. Once the Vodka is clear (it will have a greenish color to it from the blue cheese and sage), you'll be ready to make your martini!
Now that you have your infused vodka, let's proceed to make a martini with it.
Blue Cheese and Sage Vodka Martini 🍸
Ingredients:
2.5 oz Blue Cheese & Sage infused Vodka
0.5 oz extra dry Vermouth
0.5 oz olive brine (use regular olives, not blue cheese olives)
Frosted martini glass
Blue cheese stuffed olive for garnish
Sage for shaking the cocktail and garnish
Method: Add your infused vodka, vermouth, and olive brine into a cocktail shaker. Make sure to use a strainer as the olive brine sometimes has bits in it. Add ice and a handful of sage, then shake vigorously. Pour the mixture into your frosted martini glass. Garnish with a blue cheese olive and two sage leaves. This cocktail is best enjoyed with some apple pie!
