Welcome to day 2 of my Valentine's Day cocktail series! Today, I bring you a margarita that is sure to taste better than a box of Valentine's day chocolates. This unique margarita involves crushing some candy hearts for the rim, symbolizing that not all Valentine’s days are picture perfect. But, I promise you won't want to put this margarita down...
BROKEN HEART MARGARITA
Ingredients:
- 2 oz Tequila
- 1 oz Triple Sec
- 1 oz fresh squeezed lime juice
- 1/4 oz agave
- Handful of raspberries (plus one for garnish)
- Soda water
- Ice for rim
- 1/2 cup of crushed candy hearts (They are tough to crush, so I used a food processor)
- A pinch of salt
Directions:
Here's how to mix up this delightful concoction:
- In a cocktail mixing glass, add your tequila, triple sec, raspberries, lime juice, and agave. Give it a good muddle!
- Next, grab your cocktail glass (I used a rocks glass). Using a butter knife, spread some icing onto the rim of the glass in your desired design.
- Dip the iced rim into the crushed candy hearts.
- Next, add in fresh ice, strain in your raspberry-tequila mixture.
- Top with soda water and add a pinch of salt.
- Give it a good stir before sipping!
- Garnish with a raspberry that you press down in the middle to resemble a heart.
There you have it! The perfect concoction to keep cupid away. This Broken Heart Margarita not only looks stunning but is also a refreshing twist on the classic margarita. Whether you're celebrating Valentine's Day solo or with a special someone, this cocktail is sure to make your day more flavorful. Enjoy!
