Calling all aperitif lovers! If you've never had a Garibaldi, you're in for a treat. This classic Italian cocktail, named after the famous Italian general Giuseppe Garibaldi, is a delightfully simple concoction made of just orange juice and Campari. For those living in NYC, Dante's Garibaldi is highly recommended for your first Garibaldi experience!
This year, let's shake things up a bit. Instead of the traditional Mimosas on Christmas morning, why not give the Garibaldi a go? The Garibaldi, with its vibrant color and refreshing taste, is the perfect way to start your day. And to make it even more festive, we're going to add a little holiday flavor to it!
Christmas Morning Garibaldi Recipe
Here's what you'll need:
2 oz Campari
4 oz Orange Juice
1/2 oz Pomegranate Juice
Dehydrated Orange Wheel (for garnish)
Rosemary Sprig (also for garnish)
Directions:
Start by adding 2 oz Campari, 1/2 oz of pomegranate juice and 1/2 ounce of orange juice into a tall glass. Add in 2 cubes of ice and give it a good stir. In a separate glass or cocktail mixing glass, add in the remaining 3 1/2 oz orange juice. Using a hand frother, give it a good froth! (If you don't have a frother, you can also do a dry shake of the orange juice in a cocktail shaker. Just shake vigorously). Add a few more pieces of ice into your tall glass and then pour your frothed orange juice into the glass. The frothed orange will layer on top of the Campari mixture, giving it a really pretty color presentation. Remember to stir it together before you drink it to mix the flavors. Garnish with a dehydrated orange wheel and a sprig of rosemary. This cocktail is best enjoyed with a good Christmas Quiche or cinnamon rolls on Christmas morning!
