As we wind down from the holiday season, many of us find ourselves with an abundance of leftover ingredients. Cranberries and rosemary, in particular, are two festive favorites that often get left behind. So, what can you do with these extra ingredients? Why not try a Smoked Rosemary Tequila Cranberry Sour? This cocktail is perfect for those lazy days between Christmas and New Year's when nobody seems to know what day it is.

LEFTOVER CHRISTMAS SOUR aka Smoked Rosemary Tequila Cranberry Sour

The Ingredients:

  • 2 oz tequila (Espolón Tequila is a great choice)

  • 1 oz fresh squeeze lime juice

  • 0.75 oz cranberry simple syrup

  • 1 oz egg white (pasteurized)

  • 2 dashes of Angostura bitters (optional)

  • Rosemary for smoking your glass

  • Cranberries coated in sugar for garnishing

Method:

  1. Add your liquid ingredients (tequila, lime juice, cranberry simple syrup, egg white, and bitters if you're using them) into a glass without ice. Froth it up with a frother.

  2. Add ice to the liquid in a cocktail shaker and shake vigorously.

  3. Take your rosemary sprig, light it with a match or lighter, blow it out, and let the smoke linger. Place your glass on top of the smoky sprig, coating the glass in the rosemary flavor.

  4. Pour your frothy concoction into your rosemary-coated glass.

  5. Garnish with sugar-coated cranberries. To make these, simply dump a handful of defrosted cranberries into a bowl with sugar and stir until they're all coated.

This cocktail is best enjoyed in the week between Christmas and New Year's. It's a time when daily routines are often disrupted, and we're all in a sort of limbo, not quite knowing what day it is. So, why not make the most of this time? Sip on a Smoked Rosemary Tequila Cranberry Sour, relax, and savor the moment.

Don't let your leftover ingredients go to waste this holiday season. Instead, transform them into a Smoked Rosemary Tequila Cranberry Sour. This festive cocktail is a perfect way to add a little glamour to your holiday leftovers. So, go ahead, mix up a batch of this smoky, sour, and slightly sweet cocktail and enjoy the holiday season to the fullest.

Cheers!
