Fall season brings with it a sense of comfort and warmth, and what better way to celebrate it than with a delightful cocktail twist? We present November's Gin & Tonic, a perfect blend of your classic cocktail with a fall twist. This recipe incorporates the seasonal favorite, apple cider, into a traditional Gin & Tonic. It's time to take your love for Gin & Tonic to a new level. Perfect for the Thanksgiving season, this drink is best enjoyed the night before Thanksgiving as you prepare your Turkey Day meals!

Let's dive into the ingredients and method of preparing this delightful drink:

November's Gin & Tonic Recipe:

Ingredients:

  • 2 oz Gin (Empress recommended)

  • 1/2 oz Aperol

  • 1/4 oz spiced simple syrup (recipe detailed below)

  • 1/4 oz fresh squeeze lemon juice

  • Tonic Water

  • Garnish: Cinnamon stick, Star anise, Dehydrated Lemon Wheel

In a cocktail mixing glass, add your gin, aperol, simple syrup, and lemon juice. Give it a good stir. In a mason jar, fill the glass with ice and pour out your gin/aperol mix into the glass. Top it with tonic water. Finally, garnish with a dehydrated lemon wheel, a star anise, and a cinnamon stick!

Spiced Simple Syrup Recipe: Now, let's prepare the spiced simple syrup:

  • 1/2 Cup Hot water (brought to a boil)

  • 1/2 Cup Granulated Sugar (brown sugar can be used too!)

  • Cinnamon Sticks (about 8)

  • Star Anise (about 5)

  • Cloves (about 10-12)

In a bowl, stir together the hot water and sugar until the sugar has fully dissolved. Add in your cinnamon sticks, cloves, and star anise. Give it a couple of good stirs and then let it sit for either 30 mins or overnight in the fridge, covered. After it has sat, strain it into a mason jar. This flavored simple syrup usually lasts in the fridge, sealed well, for about 1-2 weeks.

With the autumn season in full swing and Thanksgiving around the corner, it's time to add a little spice to your life. This Gin & Tonic with a fall twist is the perfect way to do that. Remember, it's not just about the drink, it's about the experience. So, wrap yourself in a warm blanket, sit by the fireplace, and savor November's Gin & Tonic. Cheers to a hearty Thanksgiving!
