Halloween is just around the corner, and what better way to celebrate than with a chilling cocktail inspired by a classic thriller? Introducing the "Bates Bramble," a ghoulishly delicious drink echoing the eerie vibes of Alfred Hitchcock's "Psycho" and the infamous Bates Motel.

Bates Bramble

Ingredients:

  • 2 oz Gin (try using @empress1908gin for a vibrant hue)

  • 1 oz Lemon Juice

  • 1/2 oz Raspberry Simple Syrup

  • 1/2 oz Crème De Cassis

  • Crushed Ice

  • Raspberries for Garnish

  • Dehydrated Lemon for Garnish

Directions:

  1. Shake It Up: Combine the gin, lemon juice, and raspberry simple syrup in a cocktail shaker. Add ice and give it a good shake.

  2. Crush the Ice: Prepare your crushed ice using a Lewis Bag and mallet. Fill a medium-sized glass to the brim with the crushed ice.

  3. Pour and Top: Strain the shaken cocktail into the glass over the crushed ice. Finish by topping it with Crème De Cassis for a rich, dark layer.

  4. Garnish Spookily: Adorn your drink with 5 fresh raspberries and a slice of dehydrated lemon for that extra haunted touch.

Raspberry Simple Syrup

Ingredients:

1/2 cup water

1/2 cup granulated sugar

1/4 cup raspberries

Directions: Combine sugar and water in a medium saucepan over medium heat. Stir until sugar is fully dissolved. Remove the saucepan from the heat and add in your raspberries. With a potato masher, mash the raspberries in the pan to get the juices out. Let sit for 30 mins and then strain. Store in a sealed container in the fridge for 2 weeks.
